totem & taboo

remember how me and hugh cornwell are buddies? we were emailing each other last month sometime and i was asking him about the new album, totem & taboo. i had already listened to it (it's on spotify) and he told me it's not getting released over here until june sometime, and when i asked if it would be on vinyl, he said he didn't think so.

HOWEVER

he said he had a copy on vinyl hanging around that he could send to me. i wasn't trying to get a free gift out of him, i swear, i was just being curious and he is really that cool. i gave him my address and waited patiently (sorta) for it to arrive. the other night i came home late after a long day at work. i was falling asleep with every step i took but when i saw a record sized package sitting on my porch i was suddenly very awake. i ran up the stairs and snatched it up and went inside and did a little dance. the next morning i listened to it twice before i went to work and emailed hugh to tell him it arrived safe and sound, which he was glad to hear.

and apparently as of right now i am one of two people in the united states with this vinyl record. the other person? david fricke from rolling stone, the only other person hugh sent a copy to. which is kind of funny as david fricke showed up in the record store a few weeks ago.

it's really great, people. you should totally buy it when it comes out.
